MJC Halaal Trust Fees Structure
  • Initial Halal-Compliant Audit Fee

    This fee includes the travelling, accommodation, meetings, inspection, and administration costs incurred while on ‘fact-finding’ visit to discuss the requirements for Halal Certification.

    Halal Accreditation Registration Fee

    This fee covers registration with the MJCHT, which allows displaying the MJCHT’s Halal Certificate at the address specified thereon; the printing of the MJCHT’s Emblem on all packaging and using the MJCHT’s name and emblem for any advertising. The fee is subjected to annual review.

    Registration ‘ONLY’ Fee

    This is a nominal fee that covers registration, only. Furthermore, it is for purposes of dealing with the MJCHT on behalf of Accredited Halal Certificate Holders. It does not allow any benefits, e.g. displaying MJCHT’s Certificates, or using the MJCHT’s name or emblem, etc. The fee is subjected to annual review.

    Islamic Ritual-Cleansing Fee

    This fee covers the monitoring of the Islamic Cleansing process whenever the need arises and it is charged on the same basis as an ‘Initial Inspection’.

    Marketing Support / Service Fee

    This fee covers the provision of services by the MJCHT’s offices to Accredited Halal Certificate Holders upon request, for example:

    • Letters confirming the ḥalāl status for use by representatives or customers
    • Dealing with consumer inquiries regarding the status of products
    • Monitoring the operation
    • Checking on the products / suppliers, at regular intervals
    • Assisting with marketing
    • Attending meetings to discuss halal issues/problems, etc.

    This fee is payable monthly/quarterly in advance and it is subjected to annual review.

    Hygiene Audit Fee

    This fee covers the cost of services rendered by independent Hygiene Auditors, who are solicited whenever the need arises for it. Hygiene is an integral part of halal.

    Annual Halal Audit Fee

    This fee covers an annual visit by a senior member of the MJCHT and it is similar to a full Halal Audit of the halal accredited facility or business. The Annual Audit includes reviewing the Accreditation Agreement and renewing the Halal Certification.

    Export Certificate Fee (Consignment Basis)

    This fee, based on the price per kilogram, covers the processing of ‘Import Halal Certificates’ that are issued on request by the Accredited MJCHT Certificate Holders. The last-mentioned Certificate Holders must be under the supervision of full-time Muslim in-house Halal Monitors.

    9. Import Certificate Fee (Consignment Basis)

    This fee, based on the price per kilogram, covers the processing of ‘Import Halal Certificates’ that are issued on request by the Accredited MJCHT Certificate Holders. The issuing of an ‘Import Halal Certificate’ is subject to an Area Halal Inspector confirming, in writing, that the relevant consignment(s) had been inspected by him/her.

    “Per Head” Slaughter Fee

    This fee is charged upon receipt of monthly schedules from Slaughtering Supervisors, confirming the number of sheep/cattle slaughtered per month by the MJCHT accredited abattoir.

    Halal Game Certificate Fee (Consignment Basis)

    This fee, based on the price per kilogram, covers the processing of Halal Game Certificates, which are issued subject to an approved MJCHT representative, declaring that the entire hunting, deboning and packaging process had been monitored by him/her.
